Ramban, March 8: In a move aimed at enhancing road infrastructure and ensuring the safety of travelers, the vehicular movement on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway will be suspended for 14 hours on Saturdays and Sundays between Nashri and Banihal in Ramban district.
According to an official order, the closure will commence from 10 PM on Saturday, March 9, 2024, until 12 noon on Sunday, March 10, 2024. This suspension is to facilitate the widening of the carriageway to two lanes at Dhalwas, with additional widening work at other locations along the Nashri to Banihal stretch.
The order further stipulates that the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, NHWs, Ramban, are tasked with ensuring the strict implementation of these directives.
This decision underscores the ongoing efforts by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to upgrade road infrastructure and improve connectivity, albeit with temporary inconvenience to travelers.
