Srinagar Girl Tops 2023 Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Judicial) Examination

In a remarkable achievement, Tasneem Kawoos, a resident of central Kashmir’s Srinagar, has emerged as the top scorer in the 2023 Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Judicial) Examination. Outshining 208 candidates, Kawoos garnered an impressive 628 marks, showcasing her exceptional academic prowess and dedication.

Reflecting on her success, Kawoos, a graduate of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) currently pursuing her LL M, emphasized the evolving nature of the examination. She highlighted a significant shift towards prioritizing analytical skills over rote memorization, stressing the importance of understanding legal issues and laws rather than merely memorizing provisions.

In an interview with Bar and Bench, Kawoos underscored the significance of staying updated with legal developments. She advocated for a disciplined study routine and emphasized the efficient utilization of legal journals for time management. Kawoos highlighted the helpfulness of legal journals, particularly in presenting abridged forms of judgments through headnotes and short notes.

Beyond her success in the Civil Services (Judicial) Examination, Kawoos also secured the 8th rank in the Prosecuting Officer (PO) examination conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC). Her achievements not only highlight her individual brilliance but also serve as an inspiration for aspiring legal professionals in the region.

Kawoos’s remarkable journey showcases the importance of dedication, hard work, and a deep understanding of legal concepts in achieving success in competitive examinations. Her achievements are a testament to her diligence, perseverance, and commitment to excellence in the field of law.

As the top scorer in the prestigious examination, Kawoos’s success brings pride not only to her family and community but also to the entire region of Jammu and Kashmir. Her accomplishment serves as a beacon of hope and encouragement for aspiring candidates, reinforcing the belief that with determination and focused effort, any goal can be achieved.
