Srinagar, June: Acting against the dangerous stunt by a mini load carrier driver during night hours, the authorities in Srinagar Traffic Police here have seized the vehicle and recommended the suspension of driving licence of a driver.

A senior traffic police officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that following the reports and video on social media, where a driver was caught performing dangerous stunts was located and that swift action was taken.

“We have seized the vehicle; the driver will be called for counselling sessions. We have recommended the suspension of his driving licence,” the senior officer said.

Notably, a video went viral on social media where a mini load carrier driver was seen performing dangerous stunts, following which the traffic police tracked down the vehicle and the driver.

In a tweet, City Traffic Police on its official X account confirmed the action and wrote, “Traffic City Srinagar Seized One Mini Load Carrier Involved In Dangerous Stunt During Night Hours. Action Under Relevant Sections Of Motor Vehicle Act Taken And License Of Driver Has Been Recommended For Suspension.”

The senior officer said that the driver now faces legal action under the relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.

He said the recommendation for the suspension of the driver’s license underscores the City’s commitment to enforcing road safety and deterring reckless driving practices.

He added that there is zero-tolerance policy towards such actions and that the swift response to this incident serves as a reminder to all drivers about the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and the severe consequences of violating them.
