Nityanand Rai MoS Home attended PM Kisan Programme organized by KVK Malangpora Pulwama

SKUAST-Kashmir’s KVK Malangpora Pulwama, organized a mega event on the occasion of release of 17th instalment of PM KISAN SAMAN NIDHI scheme on Tuesday at KVK Malangpora. The event was Chaired by Nityanand Rai, Minster of state for Home Affairs, and was attended by Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Director Extension SKUAST-K Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, PS to MoS, Shiv Kumar ( IAS), District Development commissioner Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom, DIG South Kashmir, Javid Iqbal, SSP Pulwama, officers from District administration, district officers from Agriculture/horticulture departments, and more than 500 farmers and Krishi sakhis from different areas of the district, KVK officials told Sachnews.
The programme started with the welcome address by Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi and Prof. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo, Head KVK Pulwama gave a brief introduction about the role mandate and activities of KVK Pulwama.
In his brief address, Nityanand Rai deliberated on the objectives of PM KISAN Scheme and how it had changed the fortunes of small and marginal farmers. He hailed KVK Pulwama as one of the best KVK in the country and acknowledged its role in technology dissemination, and in enhancing farmers income through different interventions. He also distributed the sanction letters to few farmers for different enterprises under HADP Progemme.

While briefing the participants Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai highlighted the role and achievements of SKUAST Kashmir especially in innovation driven agriculture.
Earlier in the day the dignitaries paid a visit to different demonstration units and exhibition stalls and were highly were highly satisfied with the team work of KVK Pulwama in maintaining these units.

The live webcast of the main event was telecasted online and was watched collectively by all the dignitaries, officers and farmers from the KVK Pulwama campus.


The main event of the programme was organized at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi released Rs 20,000 crore for 9,25,99,513 farmers and grant certificates to 30,000 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) of Krishi Sakhis virtually from Varanasi. Additionally, he personally handed over certificates to five SHGs present in Varanasi. He addressed a Grand Kissan Sammelan from Varanasi, connecting with farmers and SHGs of Krishi Sakhis present at the 50 locations nationwide and KVK pulkwama was one among them.
