Srinagar, Aug 27 : Known for his public outreach and apt administration, Former Bureaucrate Farooq Ahmad Shah is now all set to begin his Political innings with National Conference announcing his name as alliance candidate from Baramulla’s Gulmarg Constituency.
Born in May 1961 Mr. Shah has a huge family legacy at his back and is known for his immense pro- Public illustrious decades- long Bureaucratic Cartier.
The Former IAS officer opted for voluntary retirement in 2019 when he was Secretary to Govt for PHE and Flood Control department which paved the way for him to join the National Conference.
Earlier Mr. Shah had held the extremely important departments of Tourism and Education as Secretary besides heading two most important Districts of Srinagar and Anantnag as Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate.
Known as the “Father of Tourism” Farooq Shah is considered a pioneer of the world famous Gulmarg Gondola Project besides taking Kashmir Tourism to new heights in the capacity of Director Tourism and Managing Director JKTDC. Recipient of State Award for his immense contribution in Public sector, Farooq Shah is being seen as a great potential candidate in new age politics.
Meanwhile National Conference workers have expressed gratitude to National Conference leadership particularly Omar Abdullah for choosing him as an alliance candidate.
