Anantnag Police Seizes Property Worth ₹70 Lakhs in Ongoing Anti-Narcotics Drive

Anantnag, 08 November 2024 : In a significant step against drug-related crimes, Anantnag Police has confiscated a single-story residential property valued at ₹70 lakhs, belonging to notorious drug dealer Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gh. Rasool Sheikh from Gopalpora Kalan.

The seizure was carried out under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, as part of the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the region.The property was attached following investigations linked to FIR No. 86/2023, filed under Sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act, which confirmed its involvement in drug trafficking operations.Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh has a long history of narcotics-related offenses, making him a prime target in the fight against drug abuse.

This action reflects Anantnag Police’s unwavering determination to break down drug networks and hold criminals accountable under the law.Anantnag Police continues to prioritize the fight against drug trafficking, aiming to protect the community, particularly the youth, from the devastating effects of narcotics. Ongoing investigations are focused on identifying other individuals connected to the accused.
