Anantnag, 27 November 2024 : In a major effort to tackle drug abuse, the Anantnag Police have seized property worth ₹2 Crores under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, intensifying their crackdown on drug trafficking networks.
Authorities in Srigufwara, Anantnag, confiscated a double-story residential house and one Kanal of land, valued at ₹2 crore, owned by Mohammad Amin Malik, son of Ghulam Rasool Malik, a resident of Kanalwan. Malik, a repeat offender, was implicated in case FIR No. 113/2021 at PS Srigufwara, where a significant amount of narcotics was found.
This decisive measure highlights the Anantnag Police’s strong commitment to eliminating the drug problem and dismantling the infrastructure that supports narcotics trafficking. By using the NDPS Act to seize properties connected to criminal activities, the police send a powerful message, deterring those involved in the illegal drug trade.
