KULGAM, DECEMBER 08: Minister for Health, Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, conducted a surprise inspection of the District Hospital Kulgam to evaluate the quality of medical services being delivered to the public.

During her visit, the Minister toured various hospital sections, including the emergency unit, surgical ward, and general wards, to review the facilities firsthand. She interacted with the hospital staff to gather a detailed assessment of the services and addressed their concerns, assuring them that steps would be taken to enhance the hospital’s infrastructure and staffing to better serve the community.

During the inspection, Sakeena Itoo found three doctors absent from their duties and immediately suspended them for failing to fulfill their professional responsibilities. She emphasized that such negligence would not be tolerated and urged healthcare professionals, especially doctors, to prioritize patient care and uphold their professional duties diligently.

The Minister also engaged with patients and their attendants to gather feedback on the hospital’s medical facilities. She reiterated the government’s commitment to providing advanced healthcare services at local levels under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Sakeena Itoo assured the public that efforts would be made to upgrade the hospital’s facilities and infrastructure, ensuring that residents receive quality healthcare within their vicinity, minimizing the need to seek treatment elsewhere.
