Srinagar,December 9: The region continues to experience severe cold conditions, with temperatures plummeting below freezing in most areas of the Kashmir Valley and Ladakh. Here’s a detailed report of the

minimum temperatures recorded today: Kashmir Region – Srinagar: -3.3°C – Qazigund: -5.2°C – Pahalgam: -6.8°C – Kupwara: -4.4°C – Kokernag: -4.4°C – Gulmarg: -9.0°C (coldest in the region) – Sonamarg: -7.0°C – Anantnag: -7.0°C – Pulwama: -6.7°C – Ganderbal: -3.3°C – Shopian: -7.5°C – Kulgam: -5.1°C – Baramulla: -4.2°C – Budgam: -5.1°C – Bandipora: -4.1°C – Larnoo: -7.9°C Zojila’s temperature remains unrecorded.

Jammu Region – Jammu: 6.5°C – Banihal: -3.1°C – Batote: -0.5°C – Katra: 6.0°C – Bhaderwah: -1.2°C – Kishtwar: -0.1°C – Padder: -7.5°C (coldest in Jammu region) – Kathua: 7.0°C – Ramban: 9.2°C (highest in the region) – Samba: 2.3°C – Udhampur: 1.6°C – Poonch: 2.4°C – Rajouri: 0.4°C Reasi’s temperature remains unavailable.

Ladakh – Leh: -12.8°C (coldest across the Union Territory) – Temperatures for Kargil and Drass remain unrecorded. These subzero temperatures highlight the severity of winter in the region, especially in higher altitudes. With the mercury dipping further, residents are advised to take precautions to stay warm and avoid frostbite-related issues. KW
