Kulgam, Dec 19: In a significant operation, five unidentified terrorists were killed, and two army personnel were injured in an encounter in the Kadder village of Behibagh in south Kashmirโ€™s Kulgam district, officials reported.

According to an official, a joint team comprising police, the Armyโ€™s 34 Rashtriya Rifles, and the CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation in Kadder village during the night, following credible inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.

As the joint team of security forces approached the suspected location, the hiding terrorists opened fire, triggering an encounter. During the initial exchange of fire, two security personnel sustained injuries.

Subsequently, five terrorists were neutralized during the operation. โ€œThe identity and affiliation of the killed terrorists are being ascertained,โ€ the official added.

The search operation is still ongoing in the area. Further details are awaited.__KNO
