Srinagar 30/DEC /2024: A young entrepreneur from Jammu & Kashmir has made a heartfelt plea to the Honorable Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, seeking assistance in securing the release of a long-overdue payment. Despite numerous attempts over the past four years, the issue remains unresolved.

The entrepreneur, who holds an MBA from Amity University, started a business aimed at generating employment in the district. During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, he was contracted to supply baby kits to the DPO, ICDS Baramulla, as part of a project approved by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Baramulla to commemorate International Girl Child Day.

Although the kits were delivered and distributed, the payment has yet to be released. The entrepreneur has exhausted all avenues, including writing multiple letters to various officials, but has received no favorable response. The matter was taken to Lok Adalat in December 2022, where an unequivocal award was issued, instructing the concerned officers to make the payment within 30 days. However, the payment remains pending.

Complicating the situation further, the newly appointed DPO, Mr. Yaar Ali Khan (JKAS), has shown no interest in addressing the grievance. Despite repeated attempts by the entrepreneur, Mr. Khan has not only refused to resolve the issue but has also reversed the progress made by his predecessor, who had ensured the payment process was underway.

The case is currently at the execution stage in the District Court, Baramulla. The entrepreneur fears further delays if the authorities continue to evade their responsibilities.

In a desperate bid for resolution, the entrepreneur has approached the Chief Minister, requesting him to direct the Secretary of Law and the Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department, to intervene and ensure the prompt release of the payment. He has also called for accountability for the officials responsible for the delay and harassment, particularly Mr. Yaar Ali Khan, JKAS.

The entrepreneur argues that such delays not only harm individuals but also undermine the government’s commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs and fostering a conducive business environment in Jammu & Kashmir.__TKA
