Ganderbal, Jan 13 (TKA): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Z-Morh Tunnel in Ganderbal district, marking a major step toward improved connectivity and tourism in the region.
The 6.4 km-long tunnel significantly cuts down travel time between Gagangeer and Sonamarg to 20-25 minutes. This all-weather tunnel ensures seamless access to Sonamarg throughout the year and serves as a vital link to the upcoming Zojila tunnel.
The project is anticipated to give a boost to local and international tourism, enhancing the socio-economic development of the Kashmir Valley, particularly Sonamarg.
The event was graced by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh, MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, MP Ghulam Ali Khatana, and other dignitaries.
