Anantnag, November 25 (TKA): In a determined effort to combat drug trafficking, Anantnag Police have seized properties valued at ₹1.6 crore under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The properties, belonging to Mushtaq Ahmed Ahanger, son of Mohammad Sadiq Ahanger from Hapatnaar Aishmuqam, were attached by Police Station Aishmuqam. The assets include a double-storey concrete building and a concrete shop, with a combined value of approximately ₹1.3 crore. Mushtaq Ahmed Ahanger is currently involved in ongoing narcotics-related offenses, and this action aims to disrupt his illegal activities.
In a similar move, Police Station Anantnag attached a double-storey building with six concrete shops in Sadoora, owned by Bashir Ahmed Mir, son of Abdul Khaliq Mir. A repeat offender in multiple narcotics cases, Bashir Ahmed Mir’s assets are valued at around ₹30 lakh.
These actions highlight Anantnag Police’s robust strategy to tackle the drug problem by not only apprehending offenders but also seizing assets acquired through illegal means. This sends a clear message: drug trafficking will face severe consequences, including the dismantling of its financial base.
Anantnag Police remain dedicated to eliminating the drug trade and encourage the public to report any suspicious activities. Together, we can fight this menace.
