Anantnag, January 18, 2025 (TKA): As directed by the Hon’ble Sessions Court, Anantnag Police destroyed a large quantity of confiscated drugs under Section 52A of the NDPS Act.
The destruction process was supervised by a committee formed for the purpose. The committee included SSP Anantnag, DySP ANTF, DySP CI, DySP Headquarters Anantnag, and DySP DAR Anantnag. The operation took place at Kashmir Health Care System in Lassipora, ensuring strict adherence to legal procedures and environmental safety measures.
The drugs destroyed were seized from police stations in Pahalgam, Aishmuqam, Srigufwara, Mattan, Larnoo, and Kokernag. The items included: – 155.37 kilograms of poppy straw – 99.022 kilograms of charas powder – 64 bottles of codeine phosphate – 889 bottles of liquor – 140 trimodal tablets
