Awareness Program Held in Pulwama to Mark World Human Rights Day

Pulwama, December 10: Following directions from the JK Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama organized an awareness program on World Human Rights Day in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Officer (Mission Shakti) Pulwama. The event was held at the Village Organization Office of the National Rural Livelihood Mission in Bathnoor Tral.

The program was conducted under the chairmanship of Naseer Ahmad Dar, Chairman DLSA (Principal District and Sessions Judge), Pulwama, and supervised by Mudasar Farooq, Secretary DLSA Pulwama.

Gender and Financial Literacy Specialists from the District Social Welfare Office acted as key resource persons, delivering detailed lectures on human rights with a focus on the Right to Work, Right to Food and Water, Right to Housing, and Right to Education.

The speakers also highlighted the theme for Human Rights Day 2024, “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,” emphasizing global unity in safeguarding human dignity, equality, and justice. This year also marks the 76th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

A significant number of participants attended the event. Additionally, another program on Human Rights Day was held by DLSA Pulwama at TLSC Awantipora in Government Girls Secondary School Awantipora. The school’s Headmaster appreciated the efforts of TLSC Awantipora in organizing awareness programs for the benefit of students.
