Ganderbal, Oct 14: The consumers in Kangan sub division have been complaining of erratic power supply, which according to them causes immense hardships to the people, especially students, who are preparing for the examinations.
The erratic power supply is being witnessed in Kangan, Prang, Wussan, Chinnar, Kijpora, Gujarpati Prang, Arahama, Anderwan, Bonizil and Gund areas.
Residents of these areas told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that their respective areas continue to reel under darkness especially during the wee hours.
They said their children who are preparing for the ongoing examinations were the worst sufferers.
“How can we study in the absence of electricity? Instead of resorting to power cuts, the concerned department must ensure uninterrupted power supply these days keeping in view the examination session,” Farhat Bhat, a Medical student told KNO.
Manzoor Ahmad Lone from Kangan Ganderbal said that despite paying hefty electricity bills, the department has failed to ensure adequate electricity to them, adding that the locals are being pushed to the wall by forcing them to reel under darkness.
The locals appealed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal to intervene into the matter and ensure that the adequate electricity is supplied to them.
