Jammu, December 9 (TKA): Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, and Additional Director General of Police, Anand Jain, held a detailed review meeting today to assess the preparations for the Republic Day celebrations in 2025.

The meeting, attended by Heads of Departments (HoDs) and key stakeholders, focused on planning and organizing various aspects of the celebrations. Discussions covered arrangements such as venue enhancements, selection of contingents, cultural programs, provision of amenities, transportation, parking, sanitation, cleanliness, decoration, and seating to ensure a smooth and successful event.

Specific tasks were assigned to different departments, with instructions to complete them with meticulous planning. The Public Works Department was directed to carry out repairs, renovations, and whitewashing at the MA Stadium, which will host the Union Territory-level event.

Departmental Heads were instructed to appoint nodal officers to coordinate and finalize arrangements efficiently. The Divisional Commissioner emphasized setting up a Control Room at the venue with representatives from all concerned departments to facilitate coordination.

The School Education Department and J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages were asked to provide lists of student contingents and cultural performances, while the Army and Police were tasked with finalizing their respective contingents. Stakeholders were urged to finalize cultural presentations and begin rehearsals promptly.

Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) was instructed to ensure proper sanitation, water tankers, and mobile toilet facilities during rehearsals and the main event. The Health Department and Fire and Emergency Services were directed to deploy ambulances and fire tenders at the venue.

Other directives included setting up barricades, security checkpoints, designated parking spaces, transportation for participants, traffic management, illumination of government buildings, and arrangements for Shehnai performances.

The Divisional Commissioner and ADGP also discussed preparations at district, sub-division, and block levels. District Commissioners were instructed to ensure smooth celebrations, including flag hoisting at all government institutions. ADGP Anand Jain directed SSPs to ensure adequate security deployments at the venues.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from various departments, including Police, CRPF, BSF, SSB, Army, Air Force, Jal Shakti, PWD, JPDCL, JMC, Health Services, Education, and others. Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of Jammu division joined the meeting virtually to discuss district-level preparations.
