An elderly woman passed away under suspicious conditions at her son-in-law’s residence in Gudoora, Pulwama, South Kashmir, on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Khurshi Begum (62), wife of the late Ab Rahman Dar from Looswani Newa, collapsed at the home of her son-in-law, Mohd Aslam Thoker, son of Ali Mohd Thoker. Allegations have surfaced that she was assaulted by her son-in-law, who then took her to the hospital.

The woman was transported to District Hospital Pulwama, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival. The police have initiated inquest proceedings and taken custody of the body.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pulwama, P. D Nitya, stated that the woman was brought to the hospital without any visible injury marks. The allegations against the son-in-law are being investigated, and inquest proceedings are underway to determine the cause of death.__KNO
