Srinagar, January 20: A fresh spell of snowfall has engulfed Kashmir’s upper reaches, bringing respite from the cold wave conditions. According to reports, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Doodhpatri, Yousmarg, and Zojila pass are experiencing moderate snowfall.
As per the latest updates, Sonamarg and Gulmarg have received around 2 inches of fresh snowfall, while Doodhpatri has recorded approximately 1 inch of snowfall till 10:00 pm last night.
Meanwhile, the plains of north Kashmir, including Handwara, Kupwara, Baramulla, Sopore, and Bandipora, are experiencing light rainfall.
The snowfall and rainfall are expected to continue throughout the day, bringing cheer to tourists and locals alike.The snowfall has also led to a significant improvement in the weather conditions, with temperatures expected to rise in the coming days.
The authorities have advised commuters to exercise caution while traveling to the upper reaches, as the roads may be slippery due to the snowfall.
