Srinagar, Feb 10 : Several higher regions, including Sonamarg and Doodhpathri, received fresh snowfall on Monday, while the weather department has predicted light snowfall in some isolated higher areas tomorrow.
snowfall was recorded in places like Doodhpathri, Sonamarg, Zojila Pass, Z Gali, Yusmarg, Peer Ki Gali, and Sinthan Top.
By this evening, Doodhpathri had received 4-6 inches of snow, Sonamarg recorded 4 inches, Zojila Pass 6 inches, Z Gali 5 inches, Yusmarg 4 inches, Peer Ki Gali 2 inches, and Sinthan Top 4 inches.
Some plain areas in north Kashmir also experienced light rainfall.
Independent weather forecaster Aadil Maqbool mentioned that no major weather changes are expected until February 15.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the Meteorological Department (MeT), stated that the weather will mostly remain dry, but some higher areas may receive light snowfall tomorrow.
He further said that from February 12 to 14, dry weather is expected. On February 15 and 16, the sky will be mostly cloudy, with chances of light rain and snow in some areas.
On February 17, the weather will remain dry, while on February 18 and 19, some regions may experience light rain or snow under cloudy conditions. (KNO)
