Srinagar, Mar 09 (TKA): India triumphed in the 2025 Champions Trophy final, defeating New Zealand by 4 wickets in a thrilling contest at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The match witnessed a competitive chase, with India successfully reaching the target set by the Black Caps.

New Zealand, after opting to bat first, faced a challenging spell from India’s bowlers. Daryl Mitchell anchored the innings with a crucial 63-run knock, while Michael Bracewell’s late fireworks helped post a fighting total. However, India’s bowling unit, featuring Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Shami, maintained pressure and picked up wickets at key moments.

In response, India’s innings was anchored by Rohit Sharma, who scored a vital 76 runs. Despite losing wickets at intervals, including those of Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel, the team stayed on track.

KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya held their nerve in the final overs, guiding India to a memorable victory. A well-balanced performance in both bowling and batting helped India lift the 2025 Champions Trophy, marking a remarkable achievement in the tournament. (TKA)
