J&K’s healthcare system will touch new heights soon: Secy Health

Says govt spending lot of funds on continuous upgradation of health infra

Srinagar, Jul 12: The government on Friday said the healthcare system in Jammu & Kashmir will touch new heights in the times to come.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Secretary Health, Dr Abid Rashid Shah, speaking with the media persons said there is a continuous requirement to upgrade the healthcare infrastructure. He said the government is doing that and is spending a lot of funds on continuous upgradation of the health infrastructure.

“I am confident that in the times to come, our healthcare system will touch new heights and our healthcare professionals will get bigger and better opportunities of performing at the national and international levels,” he added.

The Secretary Health, who was speaking on the sidelines of the two-day workshop organised by the Postgraduate Department of Minimal Access and General Surgery in collaboration with the Hernia Society of India, said they have received a “positive response from the wonderful surgeons”, who have come from different parts of the country.

“They (surgeons) have pointed out one thing that the skill set and infrastructure of our healthcare institutions in the public healthcare system is very good. We have a moment of pride in this,” Dr Abid said, adding that there is a continuous requirement to upgrade the healthcare infra and the government is doing it
