Jammu, Feb 01 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has appreciated the Union Budget for 2025-26, which was presented in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday. In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor expressed his gratitude to the Finance Minister for introducing a practical budget aimed at the development of the country.
He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for accelerating economic growth and launching bold initiatives to support the poor, youth, farmers, and women. He highlighted that the budget provides significant relief to the middle class, especially with the revised tax structure. According to him, raising the TDS limit on rent, improving social security, and formalizing the gig economy will bring substantial benefits to taxpayers.
The Lieutenant Governor further stated that the budget reflects India’s ambition for rapid economic progress and encourages private sector investments. He noted that the focus on agriculture, particularly through the Agri District Programme, will promote rural development and social welfare.
He also emphasized that India remains the fastest-growing major economy in the world, and this budget will further strengthen infrastructure, small businesses, the energy sector, and job creation. Additionally, it will support innovation and bring transformative changes in key areas for sustainable and inclusive growth.
