The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar on Friday said that higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir are likely to receive light snowfall between October 16-17.

It also predicted dry weather until October 15. “From October 11-15, the weather conditions are likely to remain dry,” a MeT official said.

He added that from October 16-17, the region will experience generally cloudy weather with light rain (and light snow in a few higher reaches), along with thunder at scattered places in Kashmir and isolated places in the Jammu division.

From October 18-19, there is a possibility of partly to generally cloudy weather, with a chance of very light rain at isolated places in the Kashmir division.

“Light snow over a few higher reaches, with thunder and gusty winds at isolated places during 16-17 October,” the official added.
