Udhampur, Nov 18: A violent altercation in the Kiya Panchayat Ramnagar area of Udhampur district turned tragic as a man killed his mother-in-law and left his wife and sister-in-law severely injured.
Police identified the accused as Sudesh Kumar, son of Krishan Kumar, hailing from Batadu in Udhampur. He allegedly used a sharp-edged weapon to attack his family members, resulting in the death of his mother-in-law on the spot.
The wife and sister-in-law of the accused were rushed to a nearby hospital in Ramnagar for treatment. While the sister-in-law is being treated at the District Hospital Udhampur, the wife, whose condition is critical, has been referred to GMC Jammu for further medical care.
Police suspect a personal dispute led to the incident and have launched a manhunt to locate the accused, who fled the scene after the attack. Investigations are ongoing.
