Srinagar, November 23 On Saturday, police, in collaboration with security forces, successfully uncovered and dismantled a militant hideout in the Kunzer area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to a police spokesperson, the operation was initiated based on credible leads obtained during the investigation of case FIR No 150/2024 of PS Magam. The joint operation involved Baramulla Police, Budgam Police, and the 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and was conducted in the forests near the village of Malwa, within the jurisdiction of Police Station Kunzer.

During the search operation, the team discovered a terrorist hideout and recovered incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition. The materials were seized under the relevant legal provisions, and the hideout was subsequently destroyed on-site.

The police statement highlighted that the recovery of these materials and the destruction of the hideout have prevented potential incidents and disrupted the plans of terrorist groups aiming to disturb peace and harmony in the Kashmir Valley__GNS
