Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to make maiden visit to Srinagar tomorrow on 7th of March, bringing with him a slew of developmental projects aimed at bolstering the region’s economy and tourism sector.

Prime Minister will grace the Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, to participate in the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ program, marking the beginning of a transformative journey for the state.

The highlight of the event will be the unveiling of the ‘Holistic Agriculture Development Programme’ (HADP), a groundbreaking initiative worth Rs 5000 crore aimed at reviving the agricultural sector in J&K. This comprehensive program encompasses horticulture, agriculture, and livestock husbandry, with a focus on empowering over 2.5 lakh farmers through skill development and the establishment of 2000 Kisan Khidmat Ghars.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate multiple projects under the Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD schemes, injecting over Rs 1400 crore into the tourism sector. Among these projects is the ‘Integrated Development of Hazratbal Shrine’ in Srinagar, which seeks to enhance the spiritual experience for pilgrims by upgrading infrastructure and amenities.

In addition to these initiatives, Prime Minister Modi will launch the ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll’, engaging citizens to vote for their preferred tourist attractions across various categories. This initiative aims to uncover hidden gems and promote tourism across the nation.

Moreover, the Prime Minister will kick-start the ‘Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign’, urging the Indian diaspora to promote tourism to India and serve as cultural ambassadors, aligning with his vision to boost tourism and strengthen cultural ties.

The visit will also witness the distribution of appointment orders to around 1000 new government recruits and interactions with beneficiaries of various government schemes, highlighting the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
