SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 24 (TKA): The wetlands of Pampore have recently become a vibrant sanctuary for thousands of migratory birds, creating a breathtaking natural display that has drawn the attention of wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists. This remarkable event highlights the ecological importance of the area and has sparked initiatives to develop Chatlam into a premier eco-tourism destination.

During a recent visit to the Pampore wetlands, Regional Wildlife Warden Tawheed Ahmad Deva emphasized the significance of this development. “The presence of these migratory birds is a testament to the ecological richness of our wetlands,” he said. “By developing Chatlam as an eco-tourism site, we aim to promote conservation while allowing visitors to witness this natural spectacle up close.”

Deva also noted that the eco-tourism project would not only protect wildlife but also support the local economy. The Pampore wetlands are a crucial habitat for a variety of bird species, attracting ornithologists and nature lovers from across the region.

As preparations continue, stakeholders are optimistic about the positive impact on both the environment and the community. Visitors can look forward to activities such as bird watching, guided tours, and educational workshops that highlight the ecological significance of the area.

With the thriving wetlands of Pampore and the promise of Chatlam as an eco-tourism hotspot, the region is set to become a beacon of conservation and a beloved destination for nature enthusiasts. During his visit, the Regional Wildlife Warden was accompanied by officials from the Forest, Wildlife, and Forest Protection Force, as well as local community members and NGOs Nazir Benazir and Advocate Nadeem Qadiri.__TKA
