
Reasi, December 06 , 2024 (TKA): The District Programme Officer (DPO) Poshan Reasi, Mohammad Anwar Banday, inaugurated a six-day training program for Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) under the “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” initiative at the DIET campus, Pouni. The training, organized as part of the Poshan Project, is being implemented under the Saksham Anganwadi initiative and Mission Poshan 2.0.
The program aims to enhance the skills of Anganwadi Workers in delivering high-quality, play-based Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) services, focusing on rural and remote areas. The training is scheduled to take place in two batches, from December 5 to 7 (first batch) and December 9 to 11 (second batch).
Inaugural Highlights:During his inaugural address, the DPO emphasized the critical role of the training in empowering Anganwadi Workers to support the developmental needs of young children. He explained that the initiative would enable them to provide holistic ECCE services, fostering the overall growth and learning of children at the grassroots level.
He also highlighted the core components of the ECCE curriculum, namely Navchetna and Aadharshila. These frameworks cater to different age groups: – Navchetna: Focused on early childhood stimulation for children aged 0-3 years. – Aadharshila: Designed for the educational needs of children aged 3-6 years.
Both curricula ensure a comprehensive and developmental approach, providing children with a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Training Objectives and Format: Dr. Lekha Bhasin, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Pouni, welcomed the DPO and participants, emphasizing the importance of the training.
She outlined the objectives of the “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” program, which integrates theoretical and practical aspects of early childhood stimulation and education. Participants will gain essential skills to create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environments for children. The training sessions will also focus on enhancing the AWWs’ capacity to implement Navchetna and Aadharshila curricula effectively.
Participation: The event witnessed active involvement from Anganwadi Workers and officials of Poshan Project Pouni, reflecting a collective commitment to strengthening early childhood care and education in the district. The initiative is expected to significantly improve the quality of services provided at Anganwadi centers, ensuring a brighter future for young children in Reasi and beyond. —TKA
