JAMMU, JANUARY 26: Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hoisted the National Flag at the 76th Republic Day event held at MA Stadium this morning.
The Lieutenant Governor reviewed the contingents and accepted the ceremonial salute during the Republic Day Parade.
The parade showcased well-coordinated contingents from the Army, BSF, CRPF, SSB, IRP (Men and Women), J&K Police, JKAP, UT Disaster Response Force, J&K Fire and Emergency Services, J&K Forest Protection Force, Excise and Taxation Department, Ex-Servicemen, NCC cadets, Bharat Scouts and Guides, and school students. Brass and Pipe Bands from the Army, BSF, J&K Police, and schools added a vibrant touch to the event.
Highlights of the celebrations included tableaux displaying J&K’s cultural diversity, the PM-Surya Ghar initiative, Swarnim Bharat heritage, the Fit India Movement, and anti-drug campaigns. A thrilling motorcycle acrobatics performance by the JKP dare-devils and cultural performances further captivated the audience.
Earlier, the Lieutenant Governor visited the Police Martyrs Memorial and Balidan Stambh, where he laid wreaths to honor the police, army, and paramilitary personnel who sacrificed their lives in service to the nation.
