In the midst of a challenging start to the IPL 2024 season for Mumbai Indians and their new captain Hardik Pandya, renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has come forward with a message of support.

After Mumbai Indians suffered three consecutive defeats, social media was ablaze with criticism directed at Pandya, especially in light of his high-profile transfer from Gujarat Titans, a team he led to notable success. Fans and followers of Gujarat Titans expressed their discontent, labeling Pandya’s move to Mumbai Indians, where he replaced Rohit Sharma as captain, as a betrayal.

This sentiment was echoed by a segment of Mumbai Indians’ supporters, who took to social media to express their frustration with both Pandya and the team’s management over the leadership change. However, Bhogle, speaking on a Cricbuzz show, criticized the negativity surrounding Pandya on social media. Bhogle criticized the tendency of social media users to jump on bandwagons and post thoughtlessly, calling for a more measured approach to evaluating Pandya’’s leadership and contributions to the team. As Mumbai Indians look forward to their next match against Delhi Capitals, the team and its fans are hopeful that the break will provide an opportunity to address and rectify the issues that have plagued their performance thus far.
