Tourists throng mustard fields in Kashmir for photography, reels

Srinagar, Apr 02: With mustard fields in full bloom, hundreds of tourists have been visiting these fields along the National Highway for leisure, photography and reels to catch moments spent in Kashmir in camera for bright memories.

The picturesque fields with yellow and green hues of the flowers have been attracting hundreds of tourists for the last fortnight.

Mohammad Abbas, a resident of Awantipora told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that hundreds of tourists stop their vehicles and spent some time in fields and take photographs as well on a daily basis.

Like tourists click photographs in Dal Lake, Pahalgam, Gulmarg , saffron fields and other tourist spots, tourists are mesmerised by the beauty of mustard fields.

Lateef Ahmad, a resident of Aishmuqam area of Anantnag said that visitors are delighted by the beauty of the mustard, prompting them to come out of their vehicles and spend time in mustard.

Gulzar Ahmad a resident of Tangmarg area also said that tourists visiting Gulmarg are also spending some time and taking photographs in the mustard fields lying in the outskirts of Gulmarg.

KNO spoke to the tourists in fields, who said that they find themselves lucky to visit Kashmir in spring when mustard fields are in bloom.

Rahul Tripathi, a tourist from Gujarat told KNO that visiting Kashmir and spending some time in mustard fields is giving him a peace of mind and he prefers to visit Kashmir in spring as Kashmir is more beautiful in this period.

Some tourists from other countries said that the beauty and weather of Kashmir is beyond imagination and one must visit this place at least once in life.

They said that this is really heaven on earth and spending time here is like spending time in heaven.

Meanwhile, officials said that land under mustard is increasing with each year under a holistic development programme and special attention is being given to develop agro-tourism in Kashmir.
