PULWAMA, DECEMBER 19 (TKA) : The Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Pulwama launched a special enforcement drive today, targeting traffic violations, especially those involving two-wheeler riders without helmets and underage drivers.
The initiative aimed to enforce the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules, thereby improving road safety in the district. During the operation, numerous vehicles were inspected, and several violations were detected. Specifically, nine individuals were found riding without helmets, nine failed to produce their Driving Licenses (DL), and there were multiple instances of triple riding and lack of insurance. Consequently, 17 e-challans were issued, amounting to a total fine of Rs. 34,500.
This drive highlights the district administration’s dedication to enhancing road safety and ensuring stricter compliance with traffic regulations. Such efforts are expected to continue, raising awareness and discouraging violations to ensure public safety.
