A remarkable delivery took place at GMC Handwara, where a woman with a previous history of four normal deliveries and a six-year gap since her last pregnancy gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
The patient, who had carried the pregnancy to full term of 40 weeks, experienced meconium-stained liquor during labor. Despite this, the delivery was successfully conducted vaginally under the skilled supervision of Dr. Javeed Munwar, a gynecologist at GMC Handwara. The junior resident, Dr. Insha, along with staff members Dilshada Ji and interns, provided valuable assistance throughout the procedure.
The baby, weighing an impressive 5.1 kilograms, was born alive and healthy, with an Apgar score of 8/8. Both the mother and baby are reported to be in good health.
This successful delivery highlights the dedication and expertise of the medical team at GMC Handwara, ensuring safe outcomes for both mother and child.
